RABBITOHS JUNIOR TOUCH FOOTBALL COMPETITION

The Rabbitohs Junior Touch Football Competition provides an amazing opportunity to have fun, learn the game of touch football, and make new friends in a safe and inclusive environment! 

Based at Heffron Park in Maroubra, our 8 week competition caters to all skill levels, and provides opportunity to learn, develop, and maintain fundamental footy skills over the summer months. The likes of Kalyn Ponga, Ryan Papenhuyzen, Shaun Johnson, and Benji Marshall developed their craft through touch football, and it’s no wonder they’re among the most exciting players in the NRL!

Who: Boys and Girls aged 8 to 18

Cost: $80 per player registration, or $600 per team registration (max 10 players) – playing shirt can be purchased

Mandatory TFA Membership Fee

How much are membership fees and who pays them?

All participants will pay $22.00 a year for membership. This fee includes GST, transaction fees and the cost of insurance.

How do I pay my membership?

The payment process is completely online via the MySideline system and is payable the first time a participant registers into a competition after 1 July each year.

I’ve never registered online before; how do I do that?

Participant Information

  • The 2024 Term 4 Rabbitohs Touch Competition is a junior social touch football competition offered in partnership between the UNSW Touch Club and the South Sydney Rabbitohs. The competition brings touch football to the local area and provides a fun and social environment for players to engage in our sport.

  • The competition will be played at Heffron Park, on the corner of Fitzgerald Avenue and Bunnerong Road. Parking is located along Fitzgerald Avenue and on Bunnerong Road.

  • The Term 4 competition will run from Tuesday 15th October 2024 through to Tuesday 17th December 2024

  • For Term 4 2024, there will be three divisions:

    Under 8’s & 10's – played at 4:00pm

    Under 12’s & 14's– played at 4:45pm

    Under 16’s & 18's – played at 5:30pm

  • The draw for the competition can be found above. The draw is subject to change. If the draw changes for whatever reason, team managers will be notified via email. Some divisions may have byes, and therefore it is vital that team managers are aware of any scheduled byes and informs their team accordingly.

  • If any team needs to forfeit, they must inform the competition manager via email at least 24 hours before the game. Teams who forfeit will not register any competition points for that game, and incur a 9-0 scoreline.

  • In the event of wet weather, a decision on if the competition will proceed will be made by 3pm and a notice posted on the website, on our Instagram page and on our Facebook page. Please do not email the competition organiser. If no notice is received, assume the competition is on.

  • The competition will be played under the rules as set forth in the Touch Football Australia Rules – 8th Edition.

    8’s and 10’s will play a modified version of the rules. They will play 6-a-side, with a field size approximately 50m x 35m.

    All other age groups will play 6-a-side on a field-sized touch field, approximately 70 x 50m.

  • All participants will receive a Rabbitohs Touch playing shirt, included as a part of their team registration. This shirt must be worn when playing. Players may be refused from playing if they are not wearing the correct shirt.

    Football boots may be worn, however only plastic moulded studs will be allowed. If not wearing football boots, other appropriate footwear should be worn. Players will not be allowed to play in bare foot.

    Players may wear any shorts they choose.

  • This is kids sport, and at the end of the day, it is meant to be a fun and safe space for all participants. This includes our referee’s. By all means, cheer on our kids, but please refrain from speaking to referee’s. Our referee’s are also Under 18, and are doing their best, so please make sure that we remember this when participating in our competition.

  • Members of the UNSW South Sydney Rabbitohs Touch Club are covered for injuries sustained during participation in our Social Competition, University sporting events (such as Unigames and relevant training sessions) and representative events/tournaments (such as Vawdon Cup, State Cup and relevant training sessions).
